Just double-click on the MacLinkPlus Installer. It will check your System Configuration, select the most likely installation options, and lead you through the installation process. Descriptive information is provided for each option, and you will have the opportunity to review, and if necessary, change the selected options.
• Installing from a CD
The MacLinkPlus Installer suggests you install after restarting your Macintosh with Extensions turned off to avoid any conflicts with your existing Extensions. If you wish to install with Extensions off and you are installing from a CD, you should first copy the entire "DataViz Translators" installation folder to your hard drive, then restart with your Extensions off. After you have restarted, open the installation folder from the hard drive and double-click the MacLinkPlus installer.
• Special Considerations
MacLinkPlus works on any Macintosh with a 68020 processor or higher, including all Power Macs. It does not work on Macs with a 68000 processor, including the Mac Plus, SE and Classic. If you have one of these Macs, contact DataViz for a version that will work for you.
There are special considerations to be aware of for certain translations. For instance, when translating between frame-based and flat word processors, or between 2-D and 3-D spreadsheets.
We Strongly Advise you to read the ReadMe! document which will be installed in your MacLinkPlus folder, especially if you will be using files to or from one or more of the following programs: MS Word Mac 6.0; ClarisWorks; Lotus WK3; MacWrite Pro; Nisus; or WordPerfect 6.0.
